SJLES will once again be participating in the Kids Helping Kids Food Drive sponsored by the Maryland Department of Education and the Maryland Food Bank. Students are invited to bring in nonperishable food items from October 19 - October 30th. Items will be collected from the homerooms by the 5th Grade Peer Leaders and counted for a school-wide contest. The class in each grade that brings in the most items will win the Golden Turkey Award, which will be presented at the PTA's Annual Turkey Trot in November.
