SJLES continues to process registrations for all new students, including kindergartners. As we plan for the 2020-2021 school year, it is important that you register your child as soon as possible. We can’t wait to meet your newest Jaguars!

  • Registrations should be submitted online. Parents will have the opportunity to upload documents during the registration process. You can find documents required for registration If parents choose to not upload documents during the registration process, they will be notified of alternative methods to submit the required documents after we have received the registration.

Here are some great resources to help prepare your child for a successful transition to Kindergarten.

HCECAC Resources

The Howard County Early Childhood Advisory Council recently announced their partnership with The Basics (Links to an external site.) in an effort to introduce Howard County families to evidence-based strategies that capitalize on every child’s first 3 years to help them reach their full potential. Please see the parent toolkit (Links to an external site.) and literature review on the science behind the five Basics Principles (Links to an external site.)

Families are encouraged to sign up before August 31st for the free Basic Insights (Links to an external site.) text messaging service to receive developmental tips in either English or Spanish. There is a possibility that the time frame to register for this free service may extend beyond July. Two messages are sent a week until the child turns 3 yrs old, with the choice to opt out of the service at any time.
