The Howard County Public School System requests that parents/guardians complete a commitment form to assist with preparations to begin a phased-in transition to a hybrid instructional model beginning March 1. Parents/guardians must complete the two-question commitment form by 4 p.m., Friday, February 5, with your decision on:
-
The type of instructional model – hybrid or fully virtual – that you choose for your child
-
Whether bus service will be used, for children who are eligible for this service
-
If your child is designated as a walker, transportation will not be provided. View the School Bus Locator for your child’s transportation eligibility.
-
PLEASE NOTE: Pickup times and bus stop locations are being updated and are subject to change. At this time, the School Bus Locator should only be used to determine if your child receives transportation services
-
Important notes and reminders:
-
All school start times and student schedules will adjust on Monday, March 1 - whether students return in-person or remain virtual.
-
Parents/guardians do not need to choose the same option for your children.
-
All parents/guardians have the option for their children to continue receiving fully virtual instruction through the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.
-
Details on health check procedures can be found online.
To provide families with additional information to help guide their decision, more than 50 answers to frequently asked questions have been added to the HCPSS Help site. This site will be regularly updated. Additional questions may be directed to your child’s school administrator.
