Greetings SJLES Families, 

We are sharing our Jaguar Summer Stories one day early this week and hope our Jaguars are enjoying them so far. Thank you to all of our staff who have shared one this summer! We will be hosting an optional Coffee and Conversation for our new kindergarten families today at 3:30. You can read all the details below and we hope to see many of our kindergarten families online for the meet and greet. I also want to uplift our kindergarten registration information below. Please help spread the word to any families with kindergarten-age children. Ms. Coleman and I hope all is well with each of our families and please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at dnotari@hcpss.org and/or erin_coleman@hcpss.org if we can be of any service to your student and family!

Kindergarten Virtual Coffee & Conversation Welcome TODAY @ 3:30!

Our administrative team, kindergarten team, and PTA will come together for an optional and informal virtual welcome session with our new kindergarten families TODAY, Tuesday, 7/27 at 3:30 PM via Google Meet. The goal of this Coffee and Conversation is to simply introduce ourselves, get to know our families, and provide a general overview of kindergarten and our school. We will share more specific and detailed school-related information as the school year approaches via email; our website; and at our Kindergarten Orientation, Open House, & Tour which is scheduled for 8/27 at 10:00-11:30.

HELP SPREAD THE WORD! 2021-2022 Kindergarten is OPEN!

Children must be 5 years old by September 1, 2021 to register for Kindergarten. 

Registration will take place online and then the final steps can be in person, if needed.  

Step 1: Register Online Here: https://www.hcpss.org/enroll/ 

  • Please make certain you are on the screen for 21-22 if registering for the next school year.

  • It is recommended that you work on a laptop or desktop to complete registration. Cell phone registration is not recommended. 

Step 2: Complete registration online by providing the documents listed below. The registration process is easier if you upload them during online registration. Otherwise, you will be asked to submit them via email as pdfs. Iphone users can scan documents through your notes app. Please note that Images must be clear.

The following documents are needed for registration:

  • Child’s evidence of birth and Parental Relationship (ie: birth certificate, baptismal certificate)

  • An authorized record of immunizations

  • Proof of residency in the form of a signed lease or deed including signature page

  • Current utility bill

  • Photo ID of enrolling parent/guardian

  • Proof of custody (if applicable)

Jaguar Summer Stories 

Our world famous SJLES staff will be sharing weekly read-alouds each Wednesday throughout the summer break with our Jaguars! This week, Ms. Coffey and Mrs. Fredriksson share a favorite story with our Jaguars.

Jaguar Lending Library 

Thanks to our 5th Grade Class of 2020-2021 for their donation of our Jaguar Lending Library which can be found near the front entrance to our school. Pictured below is former fifth grader Nate Baer who helped lead the efforts with this project. Thank you 2020-2021 fifth graders!

Virtual School Tour 

We know many of our new students are excited to tour their school. While there will be opportunities for our newest Jaguars to visit and tour the school in August we wanted to share this video Mrs. Shoff and Mr. Kollosch created in March to welcome our students back to in-person learning. Kindergarten Popsicles on the Playground

Our kindergarten team & PTA will host one more kindergarten meet and greet this summer where our students can play on our playground, enjoy a treat, begin new friendships, and meet some members of our world famous staff. We couldn’t be more excited to meet you all and welcome our newest Jaguars and families to SJLES. Be on the lookout for details regarding our school-wide Jaguar Playdate which will be held on August 18th!

Rising 1st Grade Popsicles on the Playground 8/5 @ 6:00

Our PTA will host a Popsicles on the Playground Thursday, 8/5 @ 6:00-7:00. This event will provide an optional opportunity for our rising first graders to play on our playground, enjoy a treat, reconnect with friends or begin new friendships, and meet some members of our world famous staff.  Be on the lookout for details regarding our school-wide Jaguar Playdate which will be held on August 18th! Please RSVP to this event by clicking here.
