Lunch Visit Guidelines for SJLES

Wed, 03/13/2024 - 9:04pm

In HCPSS, parents and guardians are permitted to visit their children during lunch shifts.  Any visitors must have completed the steps below prior to their first visit in order to stay for lunch:

  • Go to the HCPSS Web site to review information about the school system volunteer process.

  • Review the “Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Procedures Online Training” PowerPoint.

  • Sign the Certificate of Completion for the “Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Procedures Online Training” form and provide it to the school when signing in.

  • Review the "Confidentiality Training for Volunteers" PowerPoint

  • Sign the Confidentiality Agreement and provide it to the school when signing in.

  • Sign in at the front office using the Lobby Guard sign-in system (a valid photo I.D. must be provided).

As stated in the Confidentiality Agreement, visitors are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all private, sensitive, and personally identifiable information you may see or hear while visiting SJLES. We ask our families to please be mindful of interactions with students whom you are not the legal guardian.

Lunch visitors may only distribute food, including snack purchases, to children for whom they are the legal guardian.

Lunch visitors must agree not to video record, audio record, photograph, live stream, or in any other way transmit any part of their experience while visiting. This includes no posting on any social media platform. Staff will provide reminders to visitors who appear to do so.

Parents and guardians who visit their children for lunch are only permitted access to the cafeteria and do not have access to any other parts of the building or campus. Once the lunch shift is over, parents should report directly to the front office to sign out.

HCPSS does not permit parents and guardians to attend recess.

Thank you for your partnership and cooperation in creating a warm, welcoming, safe, secure, and confidential environment for our students throughout their school day.
