Multicultural Night is Next Week!

Multicultural Night is an opportunity for SJLES families to celebrate and share their unique heritage with the community and for everyone to celebrate the rich diversity at our school. This special night promotes empathy, acceptance and unity for us in our SJLES community. We look forward to seeing you next Thursday!

Date: Thursday, February 22nd (snow date: Thursday, February 29th)

Time: 6:00-8:00 PM 

What to Expect: Food Tastings in the Cafeteria, Student and Community Cultural Performances and Fashion Show, as well as Family Displays in the Gym, and Cultural Cozy Reading Time in the Library.

Interested in getting involved? There are several ways! 

• Please sign up here to help us form a Support Crew that will help our families make Multicultural Night a big hit!  Support Crew arrival times vary, but setup is 4:30pm or 5pm, the event is from 6pm to 8pm. Please click the sign up link for other job details and start times.

Shout Out Our Staff!!

February 26th - March 2nd is Employee Appreciation Week throughout HCPSS. Ms. Coleman and Mr. Notari are planning something special each day of the week to show our appreciation for the outstanding people who make a positive and lasting impact upon the lives of our students each and every day at SJLES.

We wanted to extend our families an opportunity to join in on the fun. We encourage our families to take a moment to recognize a staff member who has made a positive connection and/or impact upon your child and/or family. Feel free to submit this SJLES Staff Shout Out form multiple times for different staff members. We will share your message with each individual staff member. Thank you, SJLES Families, for the outstanding support and encouragement you always show our staff! It is greatly appreciated!

Spring is On the Way!

Please consider helping us with May Day on Saturday, May 11th from 1p to 5p (rain date 5/18).  We need the following roles filled so we can make sure our Jaguars have a fun day! Please email Jane Fisher if you are interested in helping at jane.gribble@gmail.com.

Games Coordinator - Check out the games in the PTA closet, organize them and set them up with help on May Day!

Entertainment Coordinator - Check out our list of entertainers from other years, reach out to them to see if they can come again, create a schedule for them and give them water and snacks on May Day. This is a lower intensity job requiring minimal work to create a schedule for the performers.  Just a few emails back and forth you and you will be all set. 

Silent Auction Coordinator - Check out our info from other years and help us run the auction to raise money for SJLES!

May Day Chair - Oversee the May Day Coordinators!  We have a great team so far!
