SJLES Updates 2/14/22

Tue, 02/15/2022 - 1:40pm

Greetings SJLES Families,

Our entire school staff appreciates the time, thoughtfuless, and partnership of our families throughout last week’s parent teacher conferences. As we approach the 100th day of school tomorrow, I want to uplift that our Jaguars are making progress in all areas and Ms. Coleman and I couldn’t be prouder of how respectful, responsible, and ready to learn they are at this point of the school year. To celebrate our 100th day students can dress up like they are 100 years old. Should be a fun spirit day at The Lane tomorrow!

Thank you to our PTA for providing lunch for our staff this past Thursday during conferences. The PTA has been a great partner again this school year in supporting our staff and students. If you haven’t joined our PTA yet please consider doing so by clicking here. Hope everyone is enjoying the day and here’s to a great week!

Sincerely,

Dan Notari

SJLES Principal

Celebrating Maryland's Healthcare Heroes Poster Competition

Late last week, Governor Hogan announced a student poster competition as part of Maryland's Healthcare Heroes Appreciation Week. The contest asks public school students to design posters of any size on the theme: "Celebrating Maryland's Healthcare Heroes." The contest is open now, and the last day for students to submit artwork is March 8. One winning poster will be selected at the state level from each category: elementary school, middle school, and high school.

MSDE is also considering displaying the remaining posters in a virtual format or in various healthcare facilities across the state. The winning students will be invited to a celebration to receive a Governor's Citation.
